PROJECTS
Development and testing of innovative solutions for wastewater treatment processes and solid residue treatment
The INNODEPUR project, promoted by Aquarno in collaboration with the Consorzio Polo Tecnologico Magona (CPTM), aims to evaluate innovative solutions to reduce environmental impacts and maximise energy and material recovery in the following areas:
- Tertiary Oxidation (Fenton Process): the objective is to optimise the tertiary treatment of wastewater by reducing the use of reagents and sludge production through:
- Integration with light irradiation to increase the production of oxidising radicals and reduce the dosage of iron salts.
- Testing of heterogeneous catalysis with bentonite-based materials used as an iron-containing catalytic support.
- Thermal treatment of sludge: the main purpose of the activities related to the thermal treatment of wastewater treatment sludge is the laboratory verification of a combination of thermal, chemical, and physical processes applied to the stabilised inert material, aimed at: maximising energy yield, reducing mass, reducing hazardousness, and maximising material recovery.
