Consorzio Aquarno S.p.A. is a beneficiary of the POR FESR TOSCANA 2014–2020 measure – ACTION 3.1.1, sub-action 3.1.1 a3) “Aid aimed at containing and countering the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency” – “Tuscany Investment Fund – investment aid” (Call approved by Decree No. 14508 of 17/09/2020, amended by Decree No. 14512 of 21/09/2020) for the project “AQUARNO INVEST”.
The project, carried out at the operational site in Via del Bosco 283, Santa Croce sull’Arno (PI) – wastewater treatment plant, was submitted during the COVID-19 epidemic and concerns the purchase and installation of:
A 550 KVA TIEMME generator set serving the main electrical utilities in the initial section of the plant. This intervention will ensure continuity in the reception of industrial wastewater and the continuation of essential treatment processes, even in the event of a power outage from the distribution network, helping to reduce hydraulic and environmental risks caused by a prolonged interruption of electricity;
A Thermo Scientific™ iCAP™ RQ ICP-MS spectrometer for the Aquarno Laboratory, engaged in monitoring wastewater entering and leaving the plant, as well as in checking and controlling piezometers under the supervision of Consorzio Aquarno S.p.A. The instrument makes it possible to expand the analytical capabilities of the in-house laboratory for the detection of trace metals. This innovative single quadrupole (SQ) ICP-MS is the ideal trace element analyser for a wide range of sample types, from routine 24/7 analysis to advanced research applications. The instrument also enables the determination of HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM through coupling with an ion chromatograph. As part of Industry 4.0 technologies, the instrument will be interconnected with the laboratory management system to enable automation of analyses and subsequent recording of results.
A mobile crown lighting tower complete with DISANO LED floodlights for the outdoor lighting of large areas of the plant. It will replace part of the old lighting system based on halogen floodlights, significantly reducing electricity consumption and light pollution. In addition, maintenance operations will become easier and safer thanks to the mobile crown, which eliminates the need for working at height.
Sanitisation measures for the premises and the purchase of PPE to protect staff from the COVID-19 virus.
PrometeoRifiuti waste management software, designed to simplify the recording of incoming and outgoing waste and the related mandatory accompanying documentation. The software has been customised to meet the company’s needs.
