Closed-loop water cycle for the leather tanning industry: from wastewater to process water.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe ACQUA360<\/strong> project involves the construction of a pilot plant for the advanced treatment of civil wastewater, aimed at producing process water to be supplied to three representative Tuscan tanneries, which will test its use throughout the entire production cycle. The project supports the design of the industrial water network planned for the Tuscan leather tanning district, which will have to supply 18,000 m\u00b3\/day of reclaimed water. Given the technical, environmental, and economic significance of the project, preliminary validation of the reuse of treated water in the tanning process is required.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe pilot plant will treat up to 100 m\u00b3\/day through ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, disinfection, cooling, and storage modules, with distribution to the tanneries by tanker truck. The project is based on previous research conducted since 2005 and aims to define the actual compatibility of the treated water with the different tanning processes.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
